About Us

Our Philosophy
Our non-profit learning center is a locally-owned and operated service to support learning and academic achievement without limits, for all learners. Our goal is to provide evidence-based, individualized instruction, in-depth investigations of topics of interest and support for identified areas of need. An emphasis is placed on meeting the needs of each learner. All learning styles are nurtured through authentic learning experiences designed to remediate, accelerate, extend, and enrich various curricula.

Our Mission
The mission of Enlightened Learning Center is to support life-long learners who have a need or passion for knowledge, by providing strong, supportive, academic programs for PreK-12 students, college students, homeschoolers, teachers, and administrators.

Who We Are

Director - Divonna M. Stebick, Ph.D
Divonna brings more than 15 years of education experience. She taught grades Kindergarten through 12, undergraduate students who pursue a teaching certificate, and graduate students who pursue a masters degree in reading. She supervises student teachers, consults in local school districts to coach teachers to be effective teachers, and is a professor in Gettysburg College's Education Department. Among many journal articles and chapters, Divonna also co-authored "Comprehension Strategies for Your K-6 Literacy. Classroom" She earned her Ph.D in Public Policy and Social Justice of Special Education and Literacy.

Manager - Timothy T. Stebick
Tim brings more than 16 years of management experience. Tim applied his management skills  in a variety of areas; inside sales, manufacturing, construction, and summer recreation programs for children. He earned his BS degree in management at Penn State University's Behrend campus. He is also very active with his son's Scouting activities.

Both Tim and Divonna are natives of Pennsylvania, moving to Hanover in 2002.  Beyond working at Enlightened Learning Center, they enjoy spending time with their two young sons; Jarrod and Jonathan on Lake Marburg fishing, hiking through Codorus State Park, cycling on the Rails to Trails, reading great books, visiting the library and playing in the backyard.
